As my first "named" artwork, In Transit holds a special place in my heart. Visiting my best friend in New York City, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, with the wind of the cars passing below wafting up as we trekked across. As I peered over the sides of the bridge to watch the cars pass, I could not help but be captivated by how "New York" it felt, and that is the only way I can describe it. I saw in my head at that moment, the above photo. The heavy metal beam cutting through the photo, with its grit and rust, accented by the perfect placement of two lovers locks. And so, I sat on the Brooklyn Bridge waiting for the right cab to pass at the right moment, and born, was In Transit.
